You read that correctly, pumpkin sauce pizza. I mean, it is fall and I know all of our pantries are stocked with pumpkin puree. In this case, what I thought was pizza sauce in my pantry, turned out to be pumpkin puree, but I wasn’t going to let that ruin my pizza night. Needless to say, I was shocked at how delicious this little number was. Honestly, most of my recipes come from a lack of ingredients and just winging it. So, if you’re ever down a few ingredients, just stop by my recipe collection and get those creative juices flowing!
Back to the pizza, I went dairy free, and veggie heavy on this one. Side note: my 15-month-old son devoured this, it’s totally kid-friendly. Don’t let the word “veggie” scare you! As always, I encourage you to spice it up and use your instincts to make this recipe your own(sausage, mozzarella, pancetta, etc). Enjoy friends.
Pumpkin Sauce Pizza
- 1/2-1 full can pumpkin puree
- 1 T dried oregano
- 1 T dried basil
- 1 t sea salt
- 1/2 t black pepper
- 1/2 t ground garlic
- Cappello's almond flour crust(frozen)
- Steamed broccoli
- Pine nuts
- Bilinski's honey apple chicken sausage
- Chopped mushrooms
- Pumpkin Pizza Sauce: Add all the ingredients together in a bowl. Pizza: Add desired amount of sauce to the frozen pizza crust and top with whatever you're feeling! The ingredients I used tasted fabulous together, I almost ate the entire pizza myself. For thick vegetables, like broccoli, steam before adding to the pizza to make sure they are cooked all the way. Enjoy, friends!
